Trouble Balancing Your Personal & Professional Life?

We were told we can do whatever we set our mind out to do, we can do it all, yet no one has really showed us how, or where to begin. How many times have you said ” there is just not enough time, if only there were more hours in a day”?

I spent most of my parenting days as a single mom, my focus was advancing through the organizations for which I worked , with the intentions of earning more at each advancement to put a roof over my children’s heads, food in their stomachs, and clothes on their backs.

When asked what motivated me, why I got out of bed each and every day, my response was the same, it was my family.

Sadly my actions did not reflect my words, and as a result I missed out on a lot of life’s most precious moments.

I tried to be Wonder Woman, putting work first, trying to be all things to all people,  often times finding myself running from place to place, late, exhausted ,  neglectful of myself, and just plain going through the motions, not enjoying anything.  Yep that was me, before the true power of The ONE Thing changed my life.

I read a poem recently that helped explain this a bit more:  Imagine life is a game in which you are juggling five balls. These balls are called work, family, health, friends, and integrity.  Focusing on the task at hand you are consistently juggling these balls day in and day out,  just going through the motions of the game, nothings changing, there is no excitement, your exhausted, and it’s just not fun anymore. Then one day you realize that each ball is different, and significant in its own way.  Work is a rubber ball, if you drop it, it will bounce back. The other four balls, family, health, friends, and integrity are made of glass, if dropped they could be irrevocably scuffed,  nicked, perhaps even shattered. (James Patterson, Suzanne’s Diary for Nicholas)

It is with this realization that my journey began and I was introduced to a coaching program based on the top ranked business book, The ONE Thing.

Now I am a speaker, trainer, investor in a real estate franchise, wife, mother, grandmother, and I GET IT!!!  It is not ONE Thing, it’s ONE thing at a time. It’s about focus, clarity, applying purpose, and being intentional.

Today I challenge you to begin a life changing journey full of success and fulfillment, I challenge you to find your One Thing.
